The management of Suria Capital Holdings Berhad and its subsidiary, Sabah Ports Sdn Bhd paid a courtesy call recently on the new General Manager of Sabah Ports Authority (SPA), En. Maisuri Besri at his office at Tanjung Lipat, Kota Kinabalu. Led by the Group Managing Director, Datuk Dr Mohd Fowzi Haji Razi, the delegation was also joined by Chief Financial Officer, Ms Ng Kiat Min, the Chief Operating Officer of Sabah Ports Sdn Bhd, En Mohd Sahid Bin Nawab Khan and Puan Siti Noraishah Azizan, the General Manager of Sabah Ports among the management.
During the meeting, Datuk Fowzi congratulated En. Maisuri on his appointment as General Manager of SPA and hoped for the closer rapport and good working relationship with the Authority to continue, particularly in addressing issues and challenges concerning port development as well as in attending to the needs of port users in the State. SPA is the State’s authority responsible in regulating port activities in the State. In 2004, the commercial operations of the State’s eight main ports came under the concession of Sabah Ports, as the operator, following a privatization agreement sealed between the State Government and Suria Capital Holdings Berhad.
