Jesselton Point Ushers in Chinese New Year With Patrons

Suria Bumiria’s Jesselton Point Ferry Terminal held its annual Chinese New Year celebration for patrons with a spectacular ’24 season drum’ performance and lion and dragon dance on the 8th February 2014. The public gathered at Jesselton Point (JP) to witness 24 children performing a drumming session which is based on a representation of the 24 agricultural seasons in the Chinese calendar. The public, including tourist, gathered for the celebration which had included a traditional lion and dragon dance, performed as a symbol of prosperity.

Young visitors were also treated to JP’s children activities such as a coloring and puzzle matching competition which was held indoors.

As a CSR gesture, 37 children from Rumah Kanak Kanak Kinabalu, Papar were invited to join in the festivity. The children were treated to a day at Jesselton Point which included a clown and magic show on top of the day’s main performance.

In attendance were Suria Capital Holdings Berhad’s Chairman, Datuk Hj. Faisyal Datuk Yusof Hamdain Diego, Suria Bumiria General Manager, En. Azman Amarashikin and the management of Suria Capital Holdings Berhad and subsidiaries.
