The merging of SCHB Engineering Services Sdn Bhd (SCES) and Suria Bumiria Sdn Bhd (SBSB) has officially been in effect on 1st April 2015. The merger exercise includes the novation of passenger gateway business and property development undertaking as well as the staff of SBSB to SCES.
Currently, the business activity of SBSB is ferry terminal operation and operating the meet and greet terminal for cruise passengers at Kota Kinabalu Port, while SCES is the Group’s construction and engineering arm. SCES also provides project management services and has been awarded a PUKONSA Class A license by the local authority.
The purpose of the restructuring and merger is to capitalize on the combined skills and expertise from both companies to undertake projects in the construction and property sectors in the future. Property development has been earmarked as one of the Group’s strategies going forward and this segment of business may be very well managed by the restructured entity with the combined skills set. The company is hoping to enhance its revenue from property management, consultancy and property management services.
The management will propose for a renaming of the company name. Office warming celebration for the merged company was done on 30th April 2015 at 4th Floor at Wisma Perkasa building which also indicates the first month of the merging entities.
