Suria Capital Holdings Berhad collaborated with Malaysian Institute of Corporate Governance (MICG) and The Malaysian Institute of Integrity to organize a Conference on Corporate Liability – Section 17A The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission Act 2009 on 25 November, 2020 at Shangri-La’s Tanjung Aru Resort & Spa, Kota Kinabalu. The conference was officiated by the Chief Minister of Sabah YAB Datuk Seri Panglima Haji Mohd Shafie Bin Haji Apdal and attended by some 300 participants, mostly from the government sector.

The objective of the conference was to give an overview of The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Amendment Act 2008 (MACC Act 2018), which was gazetted for the new Corporate Liability Provision, which is Section 17A of the MACC Act 2009. The conference helped participants to understand the essence of the new legislation, its implications to the Directors, Partners and Top Management while ensuring the organisation is ready to safeguard them against a corruption prosecution.

The speakers comprised prominent figures such as Tan Sri Hj Abu Kassim Mohamed, Puan Nor’afiza Saim, Mr. Karunanithy Y. Subbiah, Mr. David Berry, Dr Loi Kheng Min and Mohamed Ridza Abdullah.
