Board Members and Management of Sabah Ports recently attended the Green Port and Port Safety Forum that was held in Kaohsiung City, Taiwan on the 27th – 29th June 2017. The conference which was hosted by Taiwan International Port Corp. (TIPC), Ltd was attended by various port representatives, key logistics players and other supporting industries related to the port and shipping business.
The conference – an avenue to gather key individuals to the industry, distinguished speakers and guest shared and discussed innumerable key prospect in relation to green port trends, safety aspects, innovation, opportunities, and port sustainability.
In view of Sabah Ports cooperation with TIPC, Group Managing Director Mdm. Ng Kiat Min was invited to present a paper entitled “ New Opportunities for Port Sustainability, from the perspectives of resource sharing, old port area redevelopment and Corporate Social Responsibility”. In her presentation, Mdm. Ng shared the on-going developments taking place within the Group and ‘green’ initiatives Sabah Ports has and will undertake.
The conference concluded with a Port Tour to Taiwan’s renowned and largest port, Kaohsiung Port followed by a visit to Kaohsiung Logistic and Industry Park.
Sabah Ports delegation included SPSB’s Board Members Datuk Lai Vai Ming and Datuk Felix Madan, SPSB’s Chief Operating Officer, General Manager, Senior Manager (SBCP) and Manager (IT).
