Sabah Ports Sdn. Bhd. sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the National Institute of Occupational Safety and Healthy (NIOSH) for the launching of NIOSH Port Safety Passport (NPtSP) program on 31st March 2016. The agreement was signed by Mr. Mohd. Sahid Hj. Nawab Khan (COO, SPSB) and Mr. Hj. Zahrim Osman, NIOSH Executive Director and witnessed by Mdm. Siti Noraishah Azizan (GM, SPSB) and Mohd. Hussin Abd Salam, NIOSH Sabah Regional Office (SBRO) Manager.
Since the establishment of Sabah Ports in September 2004, the company has shown its commitment in improving workplace health, safety and environment of not only its staff but also for port users and contractors. It is hoped that this proactive action will further reduce the accident in its premises and assist Sabah Ports in achieving its ultimate HSE goal of zero Lost Time Injury (LTI).
Under the NPtSP system, contractors must successfully complete the NIOSH Port Safety Passport (NPtSP) induction training program before being permitted to work in either Sabah Ports’ petroleum or palm oil terminals.
