True to the theme of the night “International Night”, most employees of SuriaGroup arrived at the scene in style with their stunning foreign outfits. Seeing them in various costumes, the SuriaGroup Dinner 2017 was a fun-filled affair like a gathering of diverse nationalities as if they were born in different countries. The dance performances, the songs and the specially served-menus had also added to the “International Night” ambience.
The highlights of the evening were the presentations of HR Awards to employees which included the Long Service Award, Employee Recognition Award (ERA), Employee Wellness Award and Process Improvement.
Chairman of SuriaGroup, Datuk Faisyal Hamdain Diego in his speech commended the Management for having the gathering as an appreciation for employees’ contributions and considered it as a good avenue to strengthen ties with each other. In Group Managing Director’s speech, Mdm Ng Kiat Min called on employees to continue to contribute to the Group’s performance so as to ensure the Group could also fulfil its obligations to the needs of the State’s economy and development.
Apart from management, also attending were SuriaGroup’s Board of Directors and spouses.
Guests were entertained by Sabah-owned Elvis Presley, Mr. Rayner Paulus serenading those nostalgic Elvis’ hits and Rimba Band belting selections of songs from various countries.
The Best Dress competition saw 12 staff (6 males and 6 females) shortlisted to receive prizes on the stage for their extra efforts to dress up to the theme. Nevertheless, the lucky draw winners were even happier to bring home the lucky draw prizes especially the top grand prizes in the form of return air ticket to Thailand (1st prize), gold chain (2nd prize) and Sony Bravia 48-inch television (3rd prize).
