To conclude the auspicious year of 2019, SuriaGroup celebrated its “Employees Night”, an evening of recognition and appreciation to employees of SuriaGroup for their dedication, passion and commitment towards SuriaGroup.
The event was held on 13th December 2019 at The Magellan Sutera Resorts, Kota Kinabalu with the theme “Retro Disco”. The theme was chosen as the years of 70s and 80s, dedicated to peace and love, disco dancing, crazy clothing and groovy music, which made it an ideal theme to a fun retro party. To begin with, the organising committee hit the floor with a “flash-mob” performance to set the Retro mood. Managing Director (GMD) of SuriaGroup officiated the event and in her speech reiterated the need for SuriaGroup employees to work even harder in the coming year of 2020 in view of the challenges ahead.
Among the invited entertainers were Yobi buskers as well as musical deejay Rafi Elyas. The employees were very sporting and at the high spirit dancing together on the dance floor while Yobi buskers performed.
As the event was also to recognize employees’ achievement and dedication, the Employees Recognition Awards (ERA) were presented. Puan Roslinah Bte Hj Nasri from Sapangar Bay Container Port and Mr. Bekye Gijau from Kota Kinabalu Port received the ERA award. This award was to appreciate the outstanding contributions of employees to the achievement of SuriaGroup. Besides that, the Long Service Awards were presented to employees who had served SuriaGroup for more than 10 years. For 2019, 199 employees received the Long Service Awards (LSA).
To add more fun, there were 129 prizes for grabs in the lucky draw session. The prizes ranging from electrical goods, gadgets, shopping vouchers while the main prize was return flight ticket worth RM 3,600. Congratulations to the lucky ones!!!.
