In conjunction with Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Week, Suria took a noble initiative and reached out to the community by organizing a Blood Donation Campaign at Wisma SabahPorts, Sapangar. The campaign was open to nearby villagers and government agencies around Sapangar area as well as SuriaGroup employees. It aimed to spread awareness on the importance of blood donation and recognize it as a great humanitarian act as it gives us a new life-saving opportunity to those in need.
Apart from blood donation, SuriaGroup had also invited panel clinic from KPJ Hospital for free medical checkup. The campaign received an enthusiastic response and managed to collect 81 pints of blood throughout the day to enrich the Queen Elizabeth Hospital’s Blood Bank. Successful donors were given goody bag and got a chance to win lucky draws prepared by SuriaGroup. In addition, a token of appreciation also had been given to the most frequent blood donor. Similar to previous year, among the total blood donors were quite a number of first-time donor, this trend is a good opportunity for SuriaGroup to engage more people in the future.
