A group of 103 Primary Six pupils from SK Gentisan attended UPSR Excellence Programme organised by Suria Capital Holdings Berhad at Wisma SabahPorts to beef up their final preparation and enhance excellence in the coming UPSR examinations which is scheduled in the last week of September.
Suria Capital had hosted the programme as part of its corporate social responsibility activities and the company’s continued commitment to enhance rural education especially in primary schools.
The programme was also aimed at assisting the teachers in ensuring the pupils had strong motivation and ready for the UPSR exams. During the talk sessions, the pupils were briefed on the several techniques in answering the exam papers in English Language and Mathematics subjects. The invited speakers were En. Amiruddin Prihatiran Abdullah and En. Mixedryanson Reagen Johnson.
SK Gentisan is located just about 2 kilometres away from Sapangar Bay Container Port and the pupils are mostly from the nearby villages.
After the session and lunch, the pupils also had the opportunity to view part of the port operations from the Executive Lounge of Wisma SabahPorts. The programme was joined by children of SuriaGroup’s staff.
SK Gentian students and teachers were led by the school’s Senior Assistant, Pn. Flora Bunding.
Also attending were Datin Mariam Mahmun, Suria Capital’s Head of Group Corporate Affairs and Communications as the programme co-ordinator and Puan Junita Tajul Ariffin, Head of Group Human Resource representing Group Managing Director.
